My Mission and Values

Start Your Journey

Clark-Spicer Counselling focuses on creating a supportive environment for men to finally discover their true selves, away from the outside pressures and mixed messages on what it means to 'be a man', alongside helping with psychological challenges such as Anxiety, Depression, Grief & Loss, Anger, General Stress, Relationships, and much more.

In my experience, being outside whilst conducting therapy has a profound effect - not just from fresh air and movement, but from the pause it gives you to see the world differently. Whether in sunshine or rain, nature teaches resilience and freedom. These lessons stay with you long after our sessions, giving you strength no one can take away.

Confidentiality:

Being able to share freely is the backbone of therapy and confidentiality is at the heart of the work I do. What you share with me stays private, giving you the safety and trust to speak openly without fear of judgment. There are rare exceptions where I may need to break confidentiality in order to keep you or others safe, and I will always explain this clearly if it ever arises.

Who Am I?

Highly qualified and motivated Psychotherapist

I'm Ryan Clark-Spicer and I'm your local Psychotherapist.

I have dedicated my work to the men of our community, with the goal of supporting them in finding their true selves without all the outside noise.

Why? Because I grew up seeing and experiencing the conflicting messages on what it means to 'be a man' and I'm here today to support men in finding it for themselves, to help them see that the only person who gets to define who you are, is you. I also understand the difficulties of opening up, of breaking down those barriers to seek help, to finally recognising that needing some support is okay.

Whatever you're facing - whether you can name it or not - I'm here to support you every step of the way.

I work using the Person-Centred approach which allows me to tailor sessions to your needs in a relaxed and un-intrusive environment, alongside CBT for effective tools in building confidence and tackling issues such as anxiety.

Qualifications and Professional Body:

  • Higher Diploma (level 5) in young people and children's counselling,
  •  BA Hons Degree (level 6) in Therapeutic Counselling and Psychotherapy.

I am a registered and fully insured member of the BACP, ready and more than willing to support our community.

Why I Specialise in Men's Mental Health

Men's mental health is often misunderstood and overlooked. Tragically, in the UK, we lose around 13-14 men a day to suicide, and yet many men struggle in silence due to societal expectations, stigma, or simple lack of safe spaces to talk.

All these factors make it increasingly difficult for men to reach out and accept help, leaving them with nowhere to turn but inwards.

I noticed this gap in support and felt a strong calling to help. My goal is to provide a compassionate, non-judgemental space where men can explore their thoughts and feelings openly, find support, and develop the tools they need to thrive.

By specialising in men's mental health, I hope to challenge the stigma and ensure that seeking help is seen a sign of strength, not weakness.

Strength in support. Hope in every step.
